Ingrid J Collins, BSc (Hons) Psych, Cert Ed Psych, C Psychol, C Sci, AFBPS, FhmSTASH, FSSA, is a Consultant Educational Psychologist, a Chartered Practitioner Psychologist, a Registered Spiritual Healer, a Chartered Scientist and an Accredited Consultant of the Feng Shui Society (on whose Professional Standards Board she served for two years,) an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a Member of the Doctor-Healer Network, the World Federation for Mental Health, the Scientific and Medical Network, Royal Society for Public Health, a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine, and is the President of the Soul Therapy Association of Spiritual Healers (an nationally accredited healing organisation recognised by the British Alliance of Healing Associations and UK Healers). Mrs Collins was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2010.
An Associate Member of the Parliamentary Group for Integrated Healthcare and a biographee in the International Who’s Who in Medicine, Mrs Collins is the Director of The Soul Therapy Centre (a training clinic for therapists and healers and a Corporate Member of the British Holistic Medical Association), and has private consulting rooms at No 10 in London’s medically prestigeous location of Harley Street. She was Consultant to Children’s Services to Westminster Social Services from 1986 – 1990, has designed and delivered courses on Children With Special Educational Needs for the University of North London and, in 1991, set up the Educational Management Unit for the Kensington Consultation Centre.
Mrs Collins graduated with an Honours Degree in Psychology from Manchester University in 1965, gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology from The London Child Guidance Training Centre at The Tavistock Institute for Human Relations in 1972, developed her skills in systemic psychotherapy at The Kensington Consultation Centre over many years studying with Peter Lang and his team, and then notably Gianfranco Cecchin and Luigi Boscolo of the Milan School of Family Therapy. She holds a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Training awarded by The Centre For Stress Management in 2006. She is a Consultant and Certified Trainer in Reverse Speech Therapy, trained by the founder of this revolutionary and effective technique, David Oates. Registrations include the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the Health & Care Professions Council, the Open College Network, and the Law Society.
Having established a reputation for unbiased assessments, Mrs Collins is often consulted as an expert witness by the legal profession for medico-legal opinions and reports to Court, drawing on over fifty years’ professional experience. Mrs Collins has built her successful private practice by clients’ word of mouth by helping individuals, couples, families and organisations to a deeper awareness of others and of their own emotional dynamics and spirituality in order to enrich the quality of their psychological wellbeing, their physical health, and their personal and working relationships. A Happiness Teacher, trained by Robert Holden and Dr Patch Adams, she has also trained with Dr Bernie Siegel, the celebrated pioneer of mind/body medicine and founder of ECaP (Exceptional Cancer Patients) Groups, and Amelia Kinkade, the leading American psychic and author celebrated for her animal communication work. Ingrid has successfully added bioresonance (using the Living Infornation Forms Energy [LIFE] System) to her range of treatments. A Contributing Editor and Spiritual Healing consultant on the Advisory Board of “Here’s Health” Magazine for whom she wrote a regular page, and a member of the BPS Media Panel, she is a prizewinning poet and a popular, prolific writer and broadcaster on both radio and TV on a wide spectrum of psychology, spiritual healing, Feng Shui, integrated and complementary healthcare issues, and is quoted extensively in the media.
She has worked with the comedian Tim Vine on his one man show at the Edinburgh Festival, and with Tate Modern on their audio presentation for their permanent exhibition of the art of Cindy Sherman. She was featured in the Living TV Documentary series “Harley Street”, ITV1 Daytime’s “Have I Been Here Before?” and BBC2’s “Private Life of Harley Street” to which there was an enthusiastic response. Her favourite broadcast was for the celebrated veteran BBC producer of classic comedy programmes, Ian Guardhouse, in which she featured along with Morecambe & Wise, The Goons, George Melly & Stanley Unwin on Stephen Fry’s “The Joy Of Gibberish” on BBC Radio 4.
Her book, “A Year Of Spirituality”, received glowing endorsements from Dr Bernie Siegel and Amelia Kinkade. It was published in February 2003 by MQP in the UK and Andrews McMeel in the USA. Her poetry collection, “Eternal Sparrow: Poetry for love, laughter and life,” was published in 2009 by Strategic Publishing, New York, NY. Her third book, “Bandit Burmilla Babies: Intimate conversations with a family of cats on love, pregnancy, birth, death, and separation,”” is on the topic of interspecies telepathy and is published by Balboa Press. She has a novel in preparation, “Helpful Friends: the support of guides in Spirit”
