Baroness Hayman of Ullock currently serves as Minister for Biosecurity, Borders and Animals at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with responsibilities including biosecurity, animal welfare, plant health, borders, and One Health policy. Prior to joining government in 2024, she served in a number of senior parliamentary roles, including Shadow Spokesperson for Defra and Shadow Spokesperson for Levelling Up, Housing, Communities and Local Government in the House of Lords.

Previously elected as Member of Parliament for Workington in 2015, Baroness Hayman became the first female MP to represent a constituency in Cumbria. Raised to the Peerage in 2020, she continues to play an active role in public policy and national leadership, contributing to key discussions around sustainability, environmental responsibility, animal welfare, and regional development.
