Dr Vanessa Neumann is an internationally recognised leader working at the intersection of global strategy, defence, governance, and international security. She is the founder of Asymmetrica and Asymmetrica Europa, advisory firms specialising in strategic communications, political risk, anti-corruption investigations, and cross-border investment advisory across Europe and Latin America. Through Asymmetrica Europa, she focuses on European rearmament, defence technologies, and AI in military operations, with the company serving as an industry member of the European Space Agency. Vanessa is also an appointee to NATO’s Science and Technology Organization (STO), contributing to work on artificial intelligence in military operations.

A former Special Envoy to the United Kingdom and Ireland for the Venezuelan democratic opposition, Vanessa has extensive experience working with governments, multilateral organisations, and international institutions including the OECD, the Organization of American States, and the US Congress. She is the author of Blood Profits: How American Consumers Unwittingly Fund Terrorists and a recognised expert on illicit finance, governance, and transnational threats. Holding a PhD from Columbia University and a fellowship at Yale University’s Global Justice Program, Vanessa brings a uniquely multidisciplinary perspective spanning international relations, security, technology, and global justice.
