Christina Sarris is a barrister at Law (Gray’s Inn London) and a holder of an LLB and an LLM in International Business Law from the University of East Anglia. Christina joined the Cyprus Bar Association in 2001 and started working at POLAKIS SARRIS & CO LLC in 2001 as an associate in the Litigation Department, a position which she held until 2006. In 2006 she joined the firm’s corporate department and made Partner in 2012 and then Senior Partner in 2014.
Throughout her years in the legal profession, she has gained extensive experience in legal and tax restructuring of high-profile international groups engaged in a variety of sectors including Telecommunications, Energy, Aviation, Shipping, Betting & Gaming, Banking and Financing and Pharmaceuticals. Her experience extends to international commercial and corporate litigation, advisory and transactional experience, including mergers acquisitions, group restructuring and shareholders disputes, commercial and corporate fraud, injunctions and insolvency proceedings, as well as banking and finance litigation. She has also represented clients in international arbitration proceedings and acted as an Arbitrator in banking and finance proceedings.
Christina is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association, the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Lawyers Group (ILG), and the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA). She is also the author of articles published in business magazines, co-author in legal periodicals and books, and has been a speaker and panelist in several conferences in Cyprus and abroad.
In parallel to her legal career, Christina serves as Honorary General Consul of Panama in Cyprus since 2003.
