Kariman Abuljadayel
Olympian, Co-founder of the Saudi Rowing Federation, and Athlete at AlNassr Club
Kariman Abuljadayel made history as the first Saudi female sprinter to compete in the 100m at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Following her trailblazing Olympic debut, she transitioned to rowing and co-founded the Saudi Rowing Federation, leading the national team to win multiple international medals, including at the World Championships. In 2023, Kariman set a Guinness World Record for the fastest 10km row (open water).
Continuing to break barriers, Kariman has now become a cross-country skier, signing with AlNassr Club as their first-ever athlete in the sport—a historic moment marking AlNassr as the first Saudi club to officially include a winter sport on its roster.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Kariman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from Northeastern University, and a master’s in the history of art and architecture from SOAS, University of London. She has also contributed as a high-performance advisor at NEOM and serves as a creative advisor at Suraya Productions, her family-owned firm.
