
Fiona Yassin
Founder and Clinical Director, The Wave Clinic, Kuala Lumpur
Fiona Yassin is the Founder and Clinical Director of The Wave Clinic, Kuala Lumpur, an internationally recognised residential service for adolescents, young adults, and families. Trained at King’s College London, she is currently completing an MSc in Psychiatry at Cardiff University alongside a PhD at Lancaster University, where her research explores expressed emotion in families and its role in the treatment and maintenance of anorexia nervosa.
A clinical supervisor with a cross-cultural perspective shaped by her Arabic family background, Fiona is an EMDRIA-trained clinician with specialist training in Dynamic Supportive Therapy (DST) Levels 1 & 2, the Anna Freud Centre’s Parenting Programmes, and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT) for adolescents and families.
She has pioneered innovative treatment models that integrate psychiatry, psychotherapy, education, and the creative arts, positioning The Wave as a luxury, family-owned service trusted by international families.
