Yasmeen Gailani

Specialist in Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Sotheby’s

Based between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Yasmeen joined Sotheby’s in 2016, ahead of the opening of Sotheby’s Dubai gallery. She brings over nine years of experience in the art market and specialises in Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern art, combining regional insight with an international perspective and longstanding relationships across the Middle East.

Since joining Sotheby’s, she has played a key role in the valuation and cataloguing of major collections and masterworks for the company’s London-based Middle Eastern art auctions. Her notable contributions include Boundless: Dubai, Sotheby’s first cross-category sale in the region, and This Too Shall Pass, a charity auction held in collaboration with Alserkal Avenue. Most recently, she contributed to Sotheby’s Origins, the first-ever international auction held in Saudi Arabia, staged in Diriyah in February 2025.

In addition to her work on auctions, Yasmeen has helped shape Sotheby’s client strategy in the region, developing a dynamic calendar of events and institutional partnerships, including collaborations with the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, Abu Dhabi Art, and Art Dubai.
