Since 2019, Ms. Lisa Kurbiel has led the United Nations Joint SDG Fund, now capitalised at over US$400 million, driving financing solutions that accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals across the Global South. Through her leadership, the Fund forges powerful partnerships between the UN, the private sector, global asset managers, foundations, and philanthropies — bridging innovation, finance, and human impact.

A passionate advocate for human rights and inclusion, Lisa has served the UN in Somalia, South Sudan, Mozambique, and Kenya, shaping public policy, legislative reform, and advocacy strategies that prioritise the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Lisa holds a Juris Doctor from Saint John’s University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Niagara University. Based in New York City, she continues to inspire through her commitment to sustainable finance and global cooperation.
