Maria-Elena Kyriakou won her first singing competition at the age of 12, and made her stage debut in Stravros Sideras’ rock opera Pygmalion the following year. After studying Greek language and literature she began a teaching career alongside her singing.
Maria-Elena has worked with artists such as Stelios Pisis, Antonis Vardis, Antonis Remos, Alkinoos Ioannidis and Melina Aslanidou. In 2014 Maria-Elena was nominated for the ‘Madame Figaro Best Performer of 2014’ award, and she won the talent show ‘The voice of Greece’. She also released her first solo album ‘Two Angels on Earth’ (‘Dio Ageli Sti Gi’), working with Dimitris Kontopoulos, Vagia Kalantzi and Efthivoulos Theocharous.
She has a busy concert schedule, performing in concerts, musicals and at charity events throughout Cyrus and Greece. Recently she became the face of Swedish cosmetics company Oriflame, and her song One Last Breath represented Greece in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Most recently Maria-Elena won the award for Best New Artist at the 2015 MAD Video Music Awards.
